about

Chosen recorded a demo tape prior to the Chosen album. Chains of Steel and this alternate (way more laid back) version of Jesus Es Dios were on it. Since the demo put these two songs together with the chains and door opening sounds in between, this version also presents the two songs merged together.

lyrics

Chains of Steel

I think I hear a knockin',
There's an echo in my brain,
Where's the door, I know it's open,
There's that echo once again!
Do you worry "Am I worthy?"
The knockin's still upon the door
My strength is wanin'
I can't take this any more!

CHORUS:
I can feel the change is comin'
But I just don't know
If I turn my eyes upon You,
Will You show me where to go?
I wanna pull the door back,
But I just can't break these chains of steel!
These chains of steel, these chains of steel ...

Oh, I'm in the middle
Bound by sorrow and by shame.
Are You sure You really want me?
Am I going to be the same?
When Your power begins to change me
Will it hurt and will I cry?
The fool in me screams liar!
But my heart says he's the lie.

CHORUS

Can you stand to hear the knockin'
Open up to see the light
Where dark shines bright as day
And weakness is as might
You've got to open up your eyes
To know that it is real.
His power's so strong
That He broke these chains of steel!

I can feel the change has come
And now I know
I turned my eyes upon Him
And He showed me where to go!
You oughta pull the door back,
Let Him break your chains of steel.
Your chains of steel, your chains of steel
